COVID 19

The Swiss Federal Court recently ruled in the favor of insurer Helvetia Holding AG, overturning a lower ruling in a test case brought by a Swiss restaurant owner claiming insurance payout for lost earnings during the COVID-19 pandemic-triggered lockdown in 2020, Swiss Info reported. The decision the insurer’s contract did not cover such a severe pandemic could adversely affect hundreds of small catering businesses that are expecting insurance payouts for pandemic-triggered business interruption losses.
