Zurich hires Chubb exec for US middle market role

Zurich North America on Tuesday said it has named former Chubb Ltd. executive Kate Bernay as head of general and developing industries for its U.S. middle-market unit.

Ms. Bernay is based in New York and will report to John Mizzi, head of industry practices, U.S. middle market. She is also a member of the industry practices leadership team.

Ms. Bernay will focus on underwriting products, services and tools in current and future industry segments, the statement said.

She was most recently vice president, New York region underwriting manager for Chubb.

Mr. Mizzi said in the statement Zurich North America would continue to expand its middle-market underwriting appetite.
