Texas Roadhouse exec named RIMS president

Patrick Sterling, vice president of legendary people at Texas Roadhouse in Louisville, Kentucky, assumed the presidency of the Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc., effective Jan. 1.

Mr. Sterling, a member of the New York-based organization for 17 years, joined the RIMS global board of directors in 2018 and has served as board secretary, treasurer and vice president, according to a RIMS statement issued Monday. He was also actively involved with RIMS Kentuckiana Bluegrass Chapter in Lexington, Kentucky, and has volunteered on RIMS external affairs, finance and audit, and annual conference programming committees.

Prior to joining Texas Roadhouse in 2004, Mr. Sterling held several leadership positions at Ruby Tuesday.

Mr. Sterling succeeds Ellen R. Dunkin, senior vice president, general counsel and chief risk officer for Amalgamated Life Insurance Co. in White Plains, New York. 

Jennifer Santiago, director, risk management and safety, at Wakefern Food Corp., was named vice president of RIMS.

David E. Arick, assistant treasurer, global risk management at International Paper Co., was named treasurer and Kristen Peed, director of corporate risk management at CBIZ Inc., was named secretary.

New RIMS board members in 2022 are Manuel Padilla, vice president, risk management & insurance, MacAndrews & Forbes Inc.; and Christie Weinstein, director, risk management, at Honeywell International Inc.
