Big saga at Peloton continues

Peloton

The makers of the Peloton exercise bike spent 48 hours over the weekend rebooting the narrative of the new “Sex and the City” reboot: by filming a commercial spot that brings the show’s leading man Mr. Big back to life.

This, after the infamous premiere of the actual show “And Just Like That” had him killed after a rigorous spin on the popular exercise equipment.

Media speculation had stated the show hurt the brand — and the New York Times pointed out that the company’s stocks had dipped after the airing, raising this possible real life plot twist: could Peloton, which says it had no idea its bike would be used as a murder weapon, sue the creators of show?

The company’s senior communications leader responded by sending a statement from a member of its health advisory council, who attributed the fictional character’s heart attack to causes other than Peloton — “an extravagant lifestyle — including cocktails, cigars and big steaks.”

And such is the premise of the commercial: that exercise does the body good.
