Tencent ordered to suspend new app rollouts

China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has ordered Chinese technology conglomerate Tencent Holdings Ltd. to suspend the launch of any new apps and updates of existing products, BBC reported. The suspension, which is likely to continue through the end of this year, comes as the regulator reviews compliance of new apps with the recently introduced privacy rules.
