Cybercrime costs Irish economy over $11 billion

A report by U.K.-based accountancy firm Grant Thornton LLP said that cyber crimes cost the Irish economy €9.6 billion ($11 billion) in 2020, with ransomware attacks and the cost of fixing them accounting for nearly 21% of the total cost, RTE reported. Ireland recorded a 50% increase in online crime in 2020.
