BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Real dress codes enforced for virtual meetings

Lawyers attending workers compensation hearings in South Carolina had better smarten up to the sartorial requirements of the state’s Workers’ Compensation Commission.

In a terse advisory notice released Tuesday, the commission said: “Attorneys and others participating in Commission Appellate Hearings and Single Commissioner Hearings conducted via Zoom are reminded to dress in an appropriate manner as if the hearing was in person.”

No reason was given for the notice, but clearly the officials are through with any relaxation in dress standards that crept in when courts and other institutions were forced to move online during the pandemic.

At least dry cleaners in the Palmetto State have something to cheer about.
