Catholic Health, CWA union reach tentative pact to end strike, restore benefits

Catholic Health and the Communications Workers of America union have reached a tentative agreement that will see an immediate end to a five-week, 2,000-worker walkout, reports Fierce Healthcare. Union workers at Catholic Health’s Mercy Hospital launched their strike Oct. 1, and after talks broke down last month the Buffalo, New York-based health care system discontinued health benefits of those on the picket line.
