W.R. Berkley names president of Admiral Insurance

W.R. Berkley Corp. on Wednesday promoted Daniel Smyrl to president of Mount Laurel, New Jersey-based Admiral Insurance Group, its excess and surplus lines unit.

Mr. Smyrl succeeds Curtis E. Fletcher, who has been named chairman of Admiral.

Mr. Smyrl joined Admiral in 2002 and most recently served as executive vice president of underwriting.

Mr. Fletcher has been with Admiral for 23 years and was named president in 2018.
