Summer floods to drive up reinsurance rates

German reinsurer Hannover Re SE’s subsidiary E+S Ruckversicherung AG predicts price hikes at the upcoming January reinsurance renewals in Germany following the severe floods of June and July that caused huge catastrophe losses, Artemis reported. E+S Ruckversicherung expects the property and casualty reinsurance line to see the largest increases.
