Reinsurance rate hikes to continue at January renewals: Swiss Re

Beat Kramer, head of property underwriting EMEA at Swiss Reinsurance Co. Ltd., has said that European climate losses will push reinsurance rates further at the upcoming January 2022 renewals, Reinsurance News reported. Mr. Kramer said prices need to rise to cover the rising costs of secondary perils and forecasts price rises in loss-affected markets, depending on the size of the losses suffered.
