Dutch government mulls insurer ransomware payment ban

Risk managers are increasingly worried about their company’s exposure to cybersecurity incidents as the Dutch government considers banning insurers from covering corporates for ransomware payments, Commercial Risk reported. Adri van der Waart, president of the Dutch Association of Risk and Insurance Managers, said that the government’s recent stance has increased concerns among risk managers already struggling with withdrawal of limits for cyber cover and additional exclusions for mainstream coverage such as property and professional indemnity.
