Music industry renews call for state-backed reinsurance program

Australian musicians and concert organizers have renewed calls for the Australian government to set up a state-backed reinsurance program for live events to mitigate the risk of cancelation due to the COVID-19 related lockdowns, ABC News reported. The musicians and major festival promoters are unable to get a pandemic cover for their events and are at an increased risk of greater losses for their 2022 events amid the COVID-19 uncertainty.
