British nuclear insurance pool raises capacity to nearly $1.5 billion

U.K.-based insurance pool Nuclear Risk Insurers Ltd. has increased its insurance capacity to €1.2 billion ($1.4 billion) for nuclear installations in the U.K. to support the nuclear sector’s net zero transition, World Nuclear News reported. The increased capacity, up from the previous amount of €200 million, covers extensions of liability – identified by revised Paris Convention – and other economic, life and environmental damages.
