Vanguard reinstates popular benefit after employee uproar

Investment giant The Vanguard Group, Inc. on Tuesday reinstated a popular medical benefit for its retired staff that it had terminated a day earlier, prompting protests from current and former workers, reports the Philadelphia Inquirer. The firm reinstated and extended the retiree medical account benefit, but it was unclear for how long it would be extended. The retiree medical account benefit will remain in place until the company’s benefits team develops an alternate approach, the company said.
