54% oppose retirement plan mandate for small businesses: Poll

More than half of respondents (54%) to an informal poll do not support requiring small businesses to offer a retirement plan for employees, as Democrats have proposed in budget reconciliation legislation, reports Plansponsor. Twenty-three percent said they do support it, and the same percentage said they are not sure. More than six in 10 (63%) of respondents do not support requiring a protected lifetime income product to be offered to defined contribution plan participants, which is another proposal in the budget package.
