Munich Re expects sustained price hikes at January renewals

German reinsurer Munich Reinsurance Co. sustained price hikes during the January 2022 reinsurance renewals after a long soft market, and stronger economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, Artemis reported. Torsten Jeworrek, CEO of Munich Re’s reinsurance unit, said that it is important for the reinsurance market to maintain the pricing gains for adequate risk coverage.
