Small hospitals fear vaccine mandate could add to labor strains

While a growing number of hospitals are introducing vaccine mandates for staff, some hospitals – especially in rural communities – are avoiding such mandates for fear of aggravating already severe workforce shortages, according to Fortune. Without vaccine mandates, this could lead to a desperate cycle: Areas with fewer vaccinated residents could likely have fewer vaccinated hospital workers, too, making them more likely to be hard hit by the COVID-19, the article says.
