Production on the new “Mission: Impossible” movie was shut down seven times due to COVID-19, prompting a lawsuit filed on Monday that accuses the film’s insurance company of failing to pay out for all but one of the costly stoppages, Reuters reported Monday.

International filming on Tom Cruise’s signature action series was delayed several times between February 2020 and June 2021, according to the lawsuit filed by Paramount Pictures in federal court in California, accessed by Reuters.

Positive COVID-19 diagnoses among the cast or crew, or quarantine or lockdowns imposed in several European countries where the thriller was being filmed spurred the shutdowns, according to the wire service.

Federal Insurance Co., which did not comment on the suit, is accused of breach of contract after it only agreed to pay out $5 million for the first time filming was delayed.
