UnitedHealth expands in Minnesota with PreferredOne acquisition

UnitedHealth Group Inc. is acquiring PreferredOne, a health insurer based in Golden Valley, Minn., for an undisclosed price, reports Health Leaders, citing a Minneapolis Star Tribune report. The deal announced Aug. 16 will give Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth, the nation's largest health insurer, a significantly larger competitive presence in its home state, the article says.
