Corvus buys insurtech MGA

Cyber managing general underwriter Corvus Insurance Holdings Inc. said Thursday it has acquired Cambridge, Maryland-based SeQure Underwriters LLC, an insurtech managing general agency.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

SeQure, which conducts business as Wingman Insurance, provides a technology platform for admitted cyber and technology errors and omissions coverage in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Its specialty insurance product protects small and medium-sized businesses against losses resulting from cyberattacks and data breaches, Corvus said in a statement.

Wingman will continue to operate as an independent brand, the statement said.

Corvus said last month it has appointed the former global head of cyber risk for Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. as its first chief insurance officer, as well as naming its first general counsel.
