Gallagher may still pursue acquisition of Willis’ assets

According to Bloomberg Intelligence, U.S.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. could still seek to acquire some assets of broker Willis Towers Watson PLC despite the cancelation of the planned merger of Aon PLC and WTW, Reinsurance News reported. Although Gallagher’s original offer to buy WTW’s Willis Re Ltd and certain other assets was contingent upon the completion of Aon-WTW merger, but the loss of talent at WTW during the merger process and uncertainty over the CEO could encourage WTW to pursue its deals with Gallagher.
