U.K.’s largest pub company, Stonegate Group, is suing three insurers in London’s High Court for £845 million ($1.2 billion) over their failure to pay business interruption claims for losses suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic triggered lockdowns, Money Controll reported. The three insurers – MS Amlin Ltd., Zurich Insurance PLC and Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE – have capped their liability at £17.5 million, much below the damages sought by Stonegate, which owns more than 700 pubs and restaurants in the U.K.
