Liberty Mutual to buy Malaysian insurer

U.S.-based Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.’s Malaysian unit plans to acquire 100% shares of Malaysian insurer AmGeneral Insurance Bhd that offers commercial and personal insurance products, Verdict reported. Malaysian banking group AmBank Group Bhd owns 51% stake in AmGeneral Insurance, with the remaining 49% held by Insurance Australia Group Ltd.
