Blue Shield of California fixes bug that denied claims for teen COVID-19 vaccinations

Blue Shield of California has corrected an error in its claims system that caused COVID-19 vaccine administration claims for patients ages 12-17 to be denied in error, reports the California Medical Assn. Claims processed between May 12 and June 21 were erroneously denied with a message that the claim line was denied per Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Blue Shield guidelines.
