Supply chains of Japanese companies have been disrupted by the surge in COVID-19 infections in Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia and the resulting lockdowns that have affected the factory operations, The Jakarta Post reported citing Kyodo News. Lockdown in Malaysia since June 1 has forced Japanese automakers Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and Toyota Motor Corp. to suspend factory operations in the country.
