Health insurers request 12.9% rate hike for small group plans

Health insurers filed for a 12.9% average increase in rates next year for Connecticut small group health plans covering employers with fewer than 50 workers, reports the Hartford Business Journal. The proposed rate filings a year ago with the Connecticut Insurance Department were 11.3% on average for small group plans, which the state commissioner cut to an average of 4.1% for 2021.
