FM Global names Lawson’s successor as CEO

FM Global said Thursday that CEO Thomas A. Lawson will retire at year-end and will be succeeded by Malcolm C. Roberts, executive vice president at the property insurer.

Mr. Roberts has been appointed president of FM Global and elected to the company’s board of directors, effective Aug. 1. He will succeed Mr. Lawson as CEO effective Jan. 1, 2022. Mr. Roberts joined the insurer in London in 1995 and was appointed to his current position in 2018.

Mr. Lawson, who has spent 42 years at FM Global, will remain chairman of the insurer’s board of directors, according to a company statement. He was named president in 2014 and took over as CEO in 2015.

A successor for Mr. Roberts has not been announced, according to an email from an FM Global spokesman.
