Insured losses from tornado to exceed $168 million

The Czech Insurers Association predicted insurers will receive up to 25,000 claims for the damage caused by the tornado that struck the Czech region of South Moravia on June 24, resulting in an estimated 3.6 billion Czech koruna ($168.7 million) in insured losses, Xprimm reported citing the Radio Prague International. A state of disaster was declared immediately after the tornado. Businesses are expected to file €39 million ($46.5 million) worth of claims, mostly related to property insurance.
