In India this summer, the postman will always be able to sell one an insurance policy.

As reported in the Times of India, the mail service is expanding its offerings to people who need a new or renewed auto or bicycle insurance policy — in line with a national strategy for the postal service’s “dakia,” or insurers, to provide more services.

“We have started giving training for this new service to our staff members and we plan to start the same from July 1. Any customer can visit the post office to avail the service or if needed, the postmen would come to your house and provide the facility of insuring vehicles,” a senior superintendent of the postal service told the newspaper.

The paperless policies will be available immediately upon purchase, according to the newspaper.
