WASHINGTON — Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen, a senior Aon PLC executive, was honored for her contributions to Dutch and American relations at an awards event in Washington Thursday.
Ms. Soeteman-Reijnen, who is chairman of the executive board of Aon Holdings and other holding entities in the Netherlands, and global chief marketing officer for Aon Inpoint, was awarded the Ambassador J. William Middendorf II Award by the Netherland-America Foundation.
The award recognizes a Dutch or American person who has markedly contributed in commercial, cultural or political fields to further amity between the Netherlands and the United States.
Ms. Soeteman-Reijnen, who is based in The Hague, has been with Aon and its predecessor companies for more than 30 years. Her prior roles included group managing director EMEA and APAC, and chief broking officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Ms. Soeteman-Reijnen was named one of the Business Insurance Women to Watch in 2010.
Also honored at the event were Maureen Bunyan, a Washington-based Aruban-American broadcast journalist, and Peter Oosterveer, chairman and CEO of Arcadis NV, an Amsterdam-based design, engineering and management consultancy.
