European insurers eye M&As as they emerge from pandemic

A survey by U.S.-based Moody’s Investors Service Inc. has found that European insurers are increasingly considering possible mergers and acquisitions to adapt their business to persistently low interest rates and sluggish long-term economic growth as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, Reinsurance News reported. Of all the surveyed insurers, more than 50% see themselves as potential sellers, reflecting the latest trend of insurers divesting unprofitable units.
