The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has named Carol R. Miaskoff as its legal counsel, the agency said Thursday.
Ms. Miaskoff had been EEOC’s acting legal counsel since February. She joined the EEOC as an attorney advisor in January 1993.
The EEOC’s office of legal counsel provides legal advice to the chair — who is now Democrat Charlotte A. Burrows — and the commission on a wide range of substantive, administrative and procedural matters, the agency said in its statement.
The EEOC’s legal counsel under its previous chair, Republican Janet Dhillon, was Andrew F. Maunz. He joined Jackson Lewis P.C. as of counsel in February.
President Joe Biden named Ms. Burrows as chair and Commissioner Jocelyn Samuels, a Democrat, as vice chair in January.
