Huge gridlock of containerships at the busy Yantian port in China due to a recent COVID-19-triggered shutdown in parts of the Guangdong province is likely to delay shipments further, possibly disrupting product supply for the year-end holiday shopping season, The Wall Street Journal reported. This is the latest event to affect the global supply chain, which has already suffered setbacks due to issues such as the global pandemic and the Suez Canal blockage over the past year.
