Structural faults caused deadly Mexican metro rail collapse: DNV

Preliminary findings by Norwegian external auditor DNV AS indicate that the fatal Mexico City metro line collapse on May 3 was caused by deformation of structural supports and deficiencies in building materials used in the construction, U.S. News & World Report reported citing Reuters. The deadly collapse killed 26 people and put pressure on Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim-owned construction firm Grupo Carso SAB de CV, which built the section of the metro track that collapsed.
