New laws tackle drug costs, small employer plans

Bills signed into law by Colorado Gov. Jared Polis are aimed at holding down prescription drug costs and requiring health insurers to offer new state-regulated health plans geared towards small employers, the Colorado Sun reports.  Under one measure, a state board will be launched and will have the power to put a cap on prescription drugs costs the board finds to be too costly, while the other measure mandates that insurers offer plans regulated that cuts costs by no less than 5%.
