Chinese port congestion causes more harm than Suez Canal blockage

Lars Jensen, chief executive of Danish shipping consultancy firm Vespucci Maritime ApS, said that the congestion at the Yantian port in China has caused a larger container movement disruption than the recent Suez Canal blockage, Fresh Plaza reported citing Container News. During the 14 days of Yantian port congestion, the port has been unable to handle approximately 357,000 20-foot equivalent units (20-foot containers).
