Goodyear accused of labor abuse in Malaysia

U.S.-based tire manufacturer Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.’s Malaysian unit is facing accusations of wrongful salary deductions, unlawful overtime and threatening and denying foreign workers full access to their passports, Reuters reported. Goodyear Malaysia Bhd. faced similar complaints in the last two years and was also fined in 2020 for making foreign employees work overtime unlawfully and for underpaying them.
