Shipping incidents prompt firms to review freight insurance

Calls for the importers and exporters to urgently review their freight insurance are getting stronger following recent major shipping incidents such as the chemical fire on a vessel near the Sri Lankan coast and the Ever Given containership’s Suez Canal blockage, Bdaily News reported. Anton Gunter, director of the U.K.-based freight forwarder Global Freight Services Ltd., has warned businesses in the U.K. against huge costs they could face without proper insurance protection for their goods.
