Authorities in Russia's Komi Republic have declared an emergency after roughly 7 tons of crude oil spilled into local soil and waterways, threatening the area’s ecosystems and populated areas, The Moscow Times reported. The spill was likely the result of an accident at a pipeline operated by Russia’s PJSC Lukoil Oil Co.
