Gallagher can absorb Willis businesses seamlessly: S&P

Credit ratings agency S&P Global Ratings Inc. said that U.S.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. could seamlessly absorb various businesses of U.K.-based insurance broker Willis Towers Watson PLC, Reinsurance News reported. Willis is selling its reinsurance arm Willis Re Ltd., U.K. specialty and mainland North American and European retail businesses as part of the process to allay European Commission’s anti-competitive concerns arising from Willis’ merger with Aon PLC.
