Coffee producer loses 100 tons of production due to workers strike

Dutch coffee producer Jacobs Douwe Egberts BV has reportedly incurred a production loss of up to 100 tons of coffee production over the past week due to the workers strike on May 8 at its Banbury, England-based factory, Banbury Guardian reported. The workers are opposing JDE’s fire and rehire notices and changes to the pension scheme. JDE could suffer up to 400 tons in production loss over the next few weeks as the factory resumes full production.
