Aon hires former AIG exec to lead western R&W operations

Aon PLC has recruited former American International Group Inc. mergers and acquisitions underwriter Wendy Knobel as a senior representations and warranties broker.

Based in the San Francisco Bay area, Ms. Knobel was previously a managing director in AIG’s M&A Insurance Group where she was a senior R&W underwriter. Prior to her insurance career, Ms. Knobel was a corporate associate at various law firms.

As a senior broker for Aon, Ms. Knobel will lead R&W for the brokerage’s Western North American hub.

Aon said in a statement Monday that it continues to expand its R&W team in the Western U.S. and nationally.

In April Aon recruited former Willis Towers Watson PLC executive Julia Papastavridis as managing director in its R&W practice, along with four M&A attorneys.

Aon is currently in the process of acquiring Willis.
