Specialty broker hires former Willis Bermuda executive

Corant Global Ltd. has recruited Paul Scope from Willis Towers Watson PLC as chairman of its Bermuda operations, the London-based brokerage group said Tuesday.
Mr. Scope, a veteran of the Bermuda insurance and reinsurance markets, was most recently chairman of Willis Bermuda. Prior to joining Willis in 2015, Mr. Scope headed JLT Park, a Bermuda-based brokerage formed in 2007 through Jardine Lloyd Thompson PLC’s purchase of Park International, which Mr. Scope founded in 1989.
He was also chair of the Bermuda Development Agency from 2018 through 2020.
Corant Global, which is owned by BGC Partners Inc., is the holding company for various insurance intermediaries, including Ed Broking Group Ltd., Besso Insurance Group Ltd. and Cooper Gay SAS.
