Fairfirst Insurance names new CEO

Sri Lanka-based insurer Fairfirst Insurance Ltd., a subsidiary of the Canadian group Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., has appointed Sandeep Gopal as its new chief executive, effective May 1, replacing Sanjeev Jha, Daily FT reported. Prior to the new role, Mr. Gopal was chief strategic officer at Fairfirst and has worked with insurers, including Allied World Assurance Company Holdings Ltd. and Swiss Re Ltd., in the past.
