Zurich hires former Axa XL exec to lead financial lines, cyber

Timothy Powell, former Axa XL chief underwriting officer for international lines, is joining Zurich Insurance Group as global head of financial lines and cyber, Zurich said Tuesday.
In the new position, which begins May 24, Mr. Powell will be responsible for professional indemnity, directors and officers liability, mergers and acquisitions, financial institutions, employers liability and cyber insurance, Zurich said.
He will be based in Zurich and report to Ralph Brand, global head of casualty, financial lines and cyber.
Mr. Powell will work closely with Zurich’s country offices and provide product expertise and counsel, the statement said.
