Cigna loses legal effort to win breakup fee for failed Anthem deal

The Delaware Supreme Court on Monday ruled against Cigna Corp. in the Bloomington, Connecticut-based insurer’s attempt to secure a $1.85 billion breakup fee related to its collapsed 2017 deal to merge with Indianapolis-based Anthem Inc., Becker’s Hospital Review reported. The ruling upholds a lower court decision.
