The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission has delayed its review of the proposed combination of Aon PLC and Willis Towers Watson PLC to gather further information from the brokers, the group said Friday.

The previous date of May 27 for the “announcement of findings” had been delayed. The ACCC said it would announce a new proposed decision date “in due course.”

Aon’s $30 billion offer for Willis has attracted increased scrutiny recently and European competition authorities are expected to require divestitures of certain specific WTW businesses, likely to include the reinsurance business Willis Re, in order to approve the deal.

European Union antitrust regulators also recently extended until July 27 the deadline for their decision on the deal.
