Appeals court allows move to cut municipal pension costs

A New Jersey appeals court on Monday allowed the city of Paterson to switch municipal workers from a costly self-insured health care program to the state benefits plan, Paterson Press reported. The decision overturns lower court rulings that found the city violated police and fire employment contracts with the move.
