State to cover families of first responders killed on duty

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum on Monday signed into law a measure that offers health insurance to first responders that die in the line of duty, the Grand Forks Herald reported. The law grants family members of police officers, corrections officers, emergency medics and firefighters coverage under the North Dakota Public Employees Retirement System.
